Oracle Database 11gR2 with Amazon EC2 (ami-3d739c54)

From: https://aws.amazon.com/amis/oracle-database-11g-release-2-11-2-0-1-enterprise-edition-64-bit

This EBS backed AMI comes with Oracle Enterprise Linux Release 5 Update 4 and Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1) Enterprise Edition software pre-installed and configured on the 64 Bit platform. In a matter of minutes, you can have a fully configured Oracle Database computing environment running on Amazon EC2 that includes the web based management tool Enterprise Manager Database Control and the web based rapid development tool Applications Express (APEX).

Once you're registered on Amazon Web Services (AWS) you can access the AWS management console and press "Launch Instance" ...

NOTE #1: The selected type of EC2 instance is "T1.Micro", you must be aware that the hardware available for this type of instance is very limited (at the time of this writing 613MB RAM, Up to 2 EC2 Compute Units, EBS storage only, I/O Performance: Low, EBS-Optimized Available: No) and that is why we stop "Oracle Enterprise Manager" launch by rebooting the instance at 85% of the installation.

NOTE #2: Before using these services and software be aware of all the licensing and pricing involved with this type of environment.

NOTE #3: The slideshow widget used in this post only works in Firefox and Chrome ...
